New Look for My Blog with Balamiq

When I started my blog, I wanted to keep my blog simple and stylish. However, it’s been two weeks, and all I did was making it look simple (honestly, I got rid of everything except menu and the title of my blog. so empty and barren here.) My excuse is that I am still getting used with this blog. Also, I guess I need to pay some $$  to add pictures and details to make my blog pretty.

I haven’t decided whether I want to purchase items for this place, but I wonder what if I could move this tab to here and put this there for better usability.

Here is a useful tool that you can play the “what if scenario.”

Balamiq Mockups

Why Balsamiq Mockups for wireframing? —- “Using Mockups feels like drawing, but because it’s digital, you can tweak and rearrange easily. Teams can come up with a design and iterate over it in real-time in the course of a meeting. Product managers, designers, developers, and even clients can now work together in the same tool to quickly iterate over wireframes, before writing code. (Balamiq website)”

The keyword in the statement from Balamiq is “wireframing.” You can think of wireframe as a visual guide. At the stage of building a website, for instance, a designer need to utilize the wireframe to accomodate client’s request. This is because there is and will be a lot of changes in terms of layout, design, size, etc.

Anyways, Balamiq is one of kinds that allows you to try different layouts for your blog, website, and even smartphone platform that you can measure ease of usability, harmony of details, etc. In addition, it is so easy to put and try different details.

So, here’s my what if scenario.Image

I wanted to put taps in the left side because it seems better than staying at the top of my blog when a reader finishes to read my article. And above the menu, there’s a space where my picture will be placed and description about me under my picture. I got rid of home button from the menu but put it at the left-top corner. (Of course, audiences can return to home whenever click the name of my blog, Olivia’s at the center top.

It is very easy to use, and Balsamiq mockup gives a clear view of your trial.
